I can't comment on the durability of the blades as I haven't had it long enough, but they apparently last a 'lifetime'. As it is a purpose built for beard trimming, it performs significantly better than the pop up beard trimmer on a foil shaver. When it’s working well, it cuts pretty well and pretty evenly using some well designed, simple functions.

This is not for cutting hair, and should be limited to tidying up around ears and the straggly bits down the back of the neck, but definitely not for a hair cut. I would not hesitate to recommend this product, as it’s so versatile and easy to pick up and gets the job done! Obviously an all purpose hair trimmer is more suitable for these areas (though admittedly if your skilled and careful enough, you could get away with it). However, others say that the length setting control is horrendous, the guard and length settings are terrible, and the depth to trim is hit and miss.
